To the Editor:
As a hospital chaplain I’m always glad to see letters and articles promoting organ donation, such as the one from Bart Compton that appeared in last week’s Greene County Record and also The Daily Progress. I’d like to add one bit of information that people are often unaware of.
Organ donation isn’t limited to eyes or internal organs, such as the liver, heart, etc., it also involves tissue such as skin or bones for grafts and even cartilage, muscle, veins and arteries. So even though a person’s organs cannot be used, they still may be able to donate and help save a life or make someone’s healing faster and easier.
