To the Editor:
The Stanardsville United Methodist Church Strawberry Festival Committee would like to express their appreciation to the community and surrounding counties for their support of our annual Strawberry Festival. We look forward to this event every year which provides us with lots of fun and fellowship with one another as we work to prepare for the Festival. Many thanks to everyone who participated behind the scenes to make this festival a successful event.
Our local paper provided great coverage and the pictures reflect what a wonderful community event this festival has become.
Our proceeds, after paying our expenses, exceeded $3,200. We distributed this to Habitat for Humanity, our local food bank, and the rescue squad. Also, a token of our appreciation was given to each of our entertainment groups which help to provide the “hometown flair” to our festival.  Our appreciation also goes to the crafters and owners of the vintage cars which is another attraction to this event. An added attraction this year was the children’s area which was a big hit for the smaller children.
Many thanks for your support. See you next year for our 19th Strawberry Festival.
