To the Editor:
Twenty-one volunteers took time out of the vacation season to stop at the Greene County Rescue Squad building on the first day of the Greene County Fair, August 12th and offer the gift of life-saving blood.
The Greene County Lions Club and Virginia Blood Services sponsored this blood drive and thank these community lifesavers for helping meet a critical need for blood.
Recognition and appreciation go to Stacy Aylor, Valerie Bachman, Mick Carrier, Evadne Deeds, Ray Dingledine, John Hayes, Joan Hohenleitner, Rhonda Houchens, Ronnie Huff, Cindy Inzana, Elizabeth Martin, Mark Martin, Robert Maruca, Jennifer Murphy, Mary Potter, Calvin Powell, Shelly Ripa, Dora Sheler, Aimee Snead, Barbara Walker and Amy Wightman.
Donors can give blood every 56 days or two months. If one is a healthy adult age 17 or over, in good health and not pregnant, one may be eligible to donate blood.
Thanks to all our life-saving friends. Please give blood!
