Greene’s Grand Jury, which, as a rule, meets the second Monday of every other month in the County’s Circuit Court, convened on April 14 and on June 9. Among those indicted were:

Nabor Castanon Alvizo, 42, of 710 Ridgemont Drive in Earlysville, for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol after being previously convicted of committing the same offense at least three times in the last 10 years.  Alvizo has pleaded not guilty and waived his right to trial by jury. His case will be heard in the Greene County Circuit Court at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 7. According to the Code of Virginia, the crime with which Alvizo is charged carries a sentence of one to 10 years, with a maximum of 12 months, and a fine of up to $2,500.
Robert Brumfield, 52, of 1599 Chapman Road in Stanardsville, for allegedly engaging in threatening conduct toward an individual and any member of her family, and threatening in writing to do bodily injury to, or kill, her or any member of her family. Brumfield, who failed to appear for a hearing in May, is now considered a fugitive. He is, however, scheduled for arraignment Tuesday, July 29. According to the Code of Virginia, Brumfield’s alleged threatening conduct carries a maximum of 12 months jail time and a fine of up to $2,500. His alleged written threat is punishable by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than 10 years, and a fine of up to $2,500.
Travis Lee Devault, 36, of 274 Southridge Drive in Ruckersville, for allegedly abducting an individual by force, intimidation or deception. Devault has pleaded not guilty to the charge and waived his right to trial by jury. His case is scheduled to be heard in the Greene County Circuit Court at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 28. According to the Code of Virginia, the crime with which Devault is charged carries a sentence of one to five years, with a maximum of 12 months jail time and a fine of up to $2,500
Maurice L. Faulkner, 43, who is currently residing at the Central Virginia Regional Jail, for allegedly breaking into a home, abducting a person, and committing sexual battery and rape. Faulkner has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for trial by jury in the Greene County Circuit Court Tuesday, October 28 at 9:30 a.m. According to the Code of Virginia, if found guilty of all charges, Faulkner could spend up to 31 years in prison and pay fines of more than $200,000.
Rosa Lee Hovey, 26, of 87 Fishback Lane in Stanardsville, for allegedly unlawfully receiving a credit card and conspiring to commit credit card forgery. Hovey has pleaded not guilty to the charges and waived her right to a trial by jury. Hovey’s case will be heard in Greene County Circuit Court Friday, September 19 at 1:30 p.m. According to the Code of Virginia, the offense with which Hovey is charged carries a sentence of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $2,500.
William H. Hyer, 58, of West Virginia, for allegedly obtaining an advance for work he did not intend to perform. Hyer has pleaded not guilty to the charge, and has waived his right to trial by jury. His trial is set for Friday, September 19 at 9:30 a.m. in Greene County Circuit Court. The charge is considered an unclassified felony.
William Jewell, 26, of 167 Oakbrook Drive in Orange, for allegedly intentionally damaging property with a value of more than $1,000. Jewell has pleaded not guilty to the charge and waived his right to a trial by jury. His case will be heard in Greene County Circuit Court Monday, September 8 at 1:30 p.m. According to the Code of Virginia, the offense with which Jewell is charged carries a sentence of one to 10 years, with a maximum of 12 months, and a fine of up to $2,500.
Bernard Pete Mallory, 64, of 573 Davis Road in Stanardsville, for allegedly possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a felony within 10 years. Mallory is also charged with pointing or brandishing a firearm and recklessly handling a firearm. Mallory did not appear as scheduled in court on July 15 and is considered a fugitive. According to the Code of Virginia, Mallory’s possession of a firearm carries a sentence of one to 10 years, with a maximum of 12 months, and a fine of up to $2,500.

Jonithan Tracy Mullins, 33, of 11924 Spotswood Trail in Ruckersville, for allegedly attempting to murder a law enforcement officer and other charges. Mullins is currently housed at the Central Virginia Regional Jail. A motion has been filed for an evaluation to determine Mullins’ sanity and competency to stand trial. His case has been continued until Tuesday, September 6 at 9:30 a.m. for a review and competency hearing.
Randy Lee Phelps, 28, of Portsmouth, Virginia, for allegedly obstructing a law enforcement officer in the performance of his duties.  Phelps is being held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail. His case is scheduled to be heard Tuesday, July 29 at 9:30 a.m. in Greene County Circuit Court. According to the Code of Virginia, the crime with which Phelps has been charged carries a maximum of 12 months jail time and a fine of up to $2,500.
Patrick W. Pierce II, 56, of Lot 3, Section 5-A in Dogwood Valley, for allegedly failing to register with the Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Pierce is scheduled for arraignment in Greene County Circuit Court on Tuesday, August 12 at 9:30 a.m. According to the Code of Virginia, the charge against Pierce carries a sentence of one to 10 years, with a maximum of 12 months, and a fine of up to $2,500.

Teresa Ann Shifflett, 40, of 223 Lake Suponi Drive in Barboursville, for allegedly committing credit card fraud. Shifflett failed to appear in court on July 8 and is considered a fugitive. According to the Code of Virginia, the charge against her carries a sentence of one to 10 years, with a maximum of 12 months, and a fine of up to $2,500.
Timoteo Garcia Vallejo, 36, of 1390 Bitternut Lane in Charlottesville for allegedly possessing cocaine. Vallejo has pleaded not guilty to the charge and waived his right to trial by jury. His case will be heard Tuesday, July 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Greene County Circuit Court. According to the Code of Virginia, the charge against Vallejo carries a sentence of one to five years, with a maximum of 12 months jail time and a fine of up to $2,500.

The Grand Jury will next convene Monday, August 11, at 9:30 a.m. in the Greene County Circuit Court.
