GUEST MEDITATION: Someone is watching

You have heard the saying “A job worth doing is worth doing right.“ Yes, the work that we do speaks volumes of us; for the Bible teaches, “Even a child is known by his doing, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right,“ Proverb 20:11. With these thoughts in mind, we should strive always to do our best at whatever we undertake.
Also, the Bible exhorts, “ Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ,“ Colossians 3:23-24. So not only are people observing what we do, but also the Lord himself. Now with these thoughts in mind, we know our first accountability is to our Lord who sees our work at all times, and, secondly, unto others.
Whether the employer is present or not should not make any difference in our performance.
Now in this life we may or may not be rewarded by others for all we do, but our Lord who keeps the eternal records of all that we do will reward us if our work is pure and right.
