When men write a book and they publish it, they have a copyright notice placed at the front of the book. When our Lord God finished His book, He placed His copyright at the end. His copyright is written as follows: “ For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add him unto the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of his prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book,“ Revelations 22:18-19.
Copyrights are made for the purpose of protecting the work that has been done and for warning to those who would infringe upon it. God is protecting His book, and the warnings are severe with eternal consequences.
The Bible is the inspired word of God given to us so that we may know the true God and eternal life. Let us never add nor take away from His words lest we fall under the judgment of God. When one desecrates God’s word, he/she is only bringing destruction to his/her own soul.
