The William Monroe High School Forensics team, though small, had a fantastic year. Zach Root competed in Impromptu and performed very well for his first year doing forensics. Zach advanced from Districts to the Regional Tournament in Northern Virginia, where he received some strong scores. Patrick Miller, also a novice to the team, competed in Domestic Extemporaneous speaking, but he proved to be a natural, walking away with a trophy in his first tournament, the Waynesboro Invitational. Patrick was also District Champion, placed second at the Regional Tournament, advanced to the VHSL State Tournament and only missed the final round by a small margin. Allison Tucker, a returning team member, competed in Storytelling this year, a switch from Dramatic Duo Interpretation. Allison was a star becoming both District and Regional Champion and advancing to the VHSL State Tournament where she was only a few points from making the final round in a very tight and competitive category.
