June 26
A free hydrotherapy and health class will be offered at Amicus Seventh-day Adventist Church Thursday, June 26, beginning at 6 p.m. Come learn how to prevent the most common causes of colds, headaches, flu or other seasonal afflictions with simple treatments, remedies and herbs. The informative lecture by Doris Hernandez will also address how to avoid getting sick and why you should take steps to improve your health. June 26-27
Vacation Bible School continues at Swift Run Baptist Church Thursday and Friday, June 26-27 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for ages three and up. The theme is Outrigger Island, Living God’s Unshakeable Truth. For details call 985-7428.

Vacation Bible School continues at Nathanael Greene Elementary School through Friday, June 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. for children 4 through 12; bring a friend, win a prize. The theme is Amazon Expedition (a brand new VBS by http://www.answeringenesis.com) which takes kids through the Bible in five days! Contact for more details.

Mt. View United Methodist Church will have Vacation Bible School through Friday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to noon. We will have Bible study, crafts, recreation and refreshments each day. We invite ages three and up to join us for a week of learning and fun. There will be a program Friday at 11:30 a.m. followed by a picnic for everyone.

Vacation Bible School will be held at Evergreen Church of the Brethren through June 27 from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. for preschoolers to adult classes. For questions call Stephanie at 985-8174.

June 28
Westover United Methodist Church will have their annual lawn party June 28 with lots of buffet-style food being served beginning at 5 p.m.; adults $8 and children $4, all-you-can-eat. Come and enjoy this wonderful time of fellowship and food. For more details call (434) 985-2709.

Summer is here and it’s time for a picnic and Vacation Bible School at Laurel Hill Baptist Church. Join us for an old-fashioned picnic on the church lawn at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 28; please register your children for our July Vacation Bible School. June 29
Everyone is invited to South River United Methodist Church’s fifth Sunday worship and potluck luncheon on June 29. We will be joining our sister church, Mt. Vernon UMC at 11:45 for special music and worship. July 4-5
Solid Rock Full Gospel Church, 3580 Spotswood Trail, Barboursville, invites everyone to the Freedom Revival 2008 on Friday and Saturday, July 4-5 starting at 6 p.m. both evenings. Bring your lawn chair and come and join us in celebrating and thanking God for the freedom we have and for our country. If you like southern gospel music, good fellowship and good food you won’t want to miss this great event. There is no admission charge, a free-will offering gratefully accepted. July 6, 10, 11, 13
Holy Trinity Church of Madison will begin celebrating its 75th anniversary on July 6 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Bennie Williams of North East Holy Trinity Church of Washington, DC, delivering the opening message. Lunch served following the morning service. The afternoon service convenes at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Carroll Frederick of Portsmouth as guest speaker. The anniversary celebration continues Thursday-Friday, July 10-11 with Evangelist Charlene Kearney of Washington, DC providing the inspirational messages at 7:30 p.m. both nights. The closing service will be held Sunday, July 13 with Pastor Larry Hailes of Portsmouth as guest speaker at the 11:30 a.m. service. After lunch, Pastor Bernard White of Suffolk will deliver the 3:30 message. Bishop Luther F. July 7-11
Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church and Grace Episcopal Church are joining together to bring Jerusalem Marketplace to Greene County. We will be transforming Grace Episcopal into a bustling marketplace where adults, teens and children can come enjoy fun games, synagogue school, check-out the barnyard and visit a variety of shops in the marketplace. Please join us Monday through Friday, July 7-11 with a field trip on July 9. The fun starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m., except for the Wednesday field trip. Snacks will be served. July 11
A gospel sing will be held July 11 at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, Orange, beginning at 6 p.m. with dinner, (we will have sandwiches) and everyone is welcome; at 7 p.m. open stage and prayer requests and at 8 p.m. the featured group will be The Yoders from Farmville. Take Route 20 North of Orange to Route 631 across from Orange County Airport; go to large white church on the right. A love offering will be received. July 12
A lawn party will be held at South River Church on Saturday, July 12 beginning at 4 p.m. There will be fried chicken, country ham, mutton and lots of veggies and desserts. Please join us.

July 21-25
Stanardsville United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School (Surfin’ through the Scriptures) will be held Monday-Friday, July 21-25 with preschoolers VBS beginning at 5 p.m. with dinner and ending at 7:15 and VBS for kindergarten and up 6-8:30 p.m. At this beach party your children will become surfers riding the wave of God’s love and will experience beachcomber crafts, singing, rockin’ rec games, Bible-story time learning the beach ‘be-attitudes’ and tasty snacks and missions at the snack shack. Vernon, Stanardsville, Mountain View and Westover United Methodist churches, Spring Hill Baptist Church, Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church and other service organizations.
