May 9
Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, Orange, will hold a Gospel Sing Friday, May 9 beginning with a 6 p.m. covered-dish dinner; at 7 p.m. open stage and at 8 p.m. 4 The Lord, a group that is based in Richmond will be special guests. Take Rt. 20 north of Orange to Rt. 631 across from Orange Co. Airport; go to large white church on the right. A love offering will be received; bring a covered dish if you like. Everyone is welcome. May 10
The Pastors Aide Ministry of Shiloh Baptist Church will have a bake sale Saturday, May 10 at Great Valu starting at 8 a.m.

May 14-16
Spring Revival at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Tanners, is May 14-16 with evangelism as the topic and the Rev. Nathaniel Butler as revivalist.

May 15
Stanardsville United Methodist Women invites the public to a special program Thursday, May 15 beginning with a covered-dish meal in the fellowship hall at 6 p.m. followed by guest speaker, Sarah Endres, who will share with the church and community her experiences as a missionary and teacher at an orphanage near Calcutta, India.

May 17
Grace Church yard and bake sale is Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to benefit the Episcopal Women’s Outreach and Ministry. Betty O’Conner will be signing copies of her new mystery novel.

May 24
The 2008 Spring Hill Tour de Greene will be Saturday, May 24 at 8 a.m. Run, walk, kid dash, bike ride; come and join Spring Hill May 24 at Dover Foxcroft Farm, as we run and bike our way to a better education for Greene County. All proceeds will benefit the Greene County Education Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of Greene.

June 14
Spring Hill Baptist Church is holding a car show and chili cook-off Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you have a classic car, truck or motorcycle you would like to display at the show or if you are interested in competing in the chili cook-off, call Tom at (434) 985-2780.

October 25
The Women’s Ministry of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Tanners, will be hosting a trip to the Millennium Theatre in Lancaster, PA to see “In the Beginning;” a story about The Garden of Eden on October 25. Call Mrs. Jean Wood at 672-3717 or the church at 672-9065. (5-08)

Tuesday’s Table, a ministry providing a free meal to anyone in need, whether the need is economic, spiritual, fellowship, or whatever (no questions asked) is held every Tuesday night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Stanardsville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Court Street (across from the Courthouse) in downtown Stanardsville.  Food is provided and prepared by Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church, Mt. Vernon, Stanardsville, Mountain View and Westover United Methodist churches, Spring Hill Baptist Church, Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church and other service organizations.
