Gordonsville is having their annual Fall Festival and Brunswick Stew on Saturday, Nov. 8. The bazaar doors will open at 10:00am with homemade Christmas ornaments and lots of miscellaneous handmade craft items and delicious homemade baked goods. There will also be a white elephant room. Lunch will be served from 11:00am until 2pm. All you ca net Brunswick Stew and all the trimmings including homemade cake or pie. Adults $5, and children 12 and under $3. Come and join us for a great day of fellowship while shopping and enjoying a delicious meal.
Would you like to bring joy to a child in need of hope? A simple gift, a shoe box containing toys, school supplies, and toiletries, can do just that. Operation Christ Child, a Program of Samaritan’s Purse (Franklin Graham, president) Distributes gift, filled shoe boxes given by people like you who want to make a difference. All churches are invited to Swift Run Baptist Church on Amicus/Swift Run Road for World Day of Prayer Service on Monday, November 10th at 6:00 p.m. All denominations will be taking part in this special evening of prayer. In the time of war, our economy and just our own personal struggles it is nice that we can go to church and have a special night of prayer. So please come and joint us and lay your prayer requests at the alter. Light refreshments served.

Tuesday’s Table is a ministry providing a free meal to anyone in need, whether the need is economic, spiritual, fellowship, or whatever (no questions asked) and is held every Tuesday night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Stanardsville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Court Street (across from the Courthouse) in downtown Stanardsville. Food is provided and prepared by Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church, Mt. Vernon, Stanardsville, Mountain View and Westover United Methodist churches, Spring Hill Baptist Church, Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church and other service organizations.
