Aug. 2
On Aug. 2 there will be a yard sale at the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church shelter from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come for great bargains.

Aug. 4-6
The “Good News Games” is the theme of Vacation Bible School at Bethel Baptist Church, corner of Burnley Station Road, Rt. 641 and Watts Passage, Rt. 600, just off Rt. 29, four miles south of Ruckersville. The games are Aug. 4-6 from 6:30-8:40 p.m. for ages four through and including adults. There will be crafts, snacks, lots of fun and the Good News Games. For information call 326-0176.

Aug. 8
Gospel Sing will be held Friday, Aug. 8 at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, Orange, with dinner at 6 p.m., (bring a covered-dish if you like, all are welcome); 7 p.m. open stage and prayer requests and at 8p.m. “The Blood Connected” from North Carolina will be the featured group. Aug.  9 and Aug. 12-16
A Demolition Derby will be held at Rt. 230, Madison Road, Stanardsville, August 9 at 7 p.m. This event is sponsored by Greene County Fair, Inc. The Greene County Fair will be held August 12-16, on Rt. 230 in Stanardsville. There will be rides, games, food, bluegrass music, animals and something for everyone.

Tuesday’s Table is a ministry providing a free meal to anyone in need, whether the need is economic, spiritual, fellowship, or whatever (no questions asked) is held every Tuesday night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Stanardsville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Court Street (across from the Courthouse) in downtown Stanardsville.  Food is provided and prepared by Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church, Mt. Vernon, Stanardsville, Mountain View and Westover United Methodist churches, Spring Hill Baptist Church, Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church and other service organizations.
